Gorica's SloEnduro team made a strong start to the season with a dominant performance in the first round of the SloEnduro series in Nova Gorica. The event saw a record number of riders and a strong international field, with top riders from around the world competing for the top spot. Mirco Vendemmia, a member of the Appennino Bike Gravity Team from the Bologna area, took the top spot, completing the day's longest stage, the Piazza Direct from Škabrijel, in under six minutes. He remained unbeaten until the end of the day, with his lead over his pursuers growing from stage to stage. The event was held on a beautiful yet demanding course above the Soča river, with nearly 3,000 meters of elevation gain over two days on the long course, and nearly 4,000 in the elite e-MTB category. The very dry conditions added slippery dust on the rocks, and a bit of rain fell at the end of Sunday's race, making the rescue teams' job more challenging. The event was organized by the Nova Gorica-based TCS Trail Builders Association, who took the organization of the event very seriously, approaching it as if they were hosting a major international championship. The association enjoys building and maintaining trails, riding them, and taking the organization of every event very seriously.
